To achieve full potential a golfer requires the ability to utilise almost every joint to its functional capacity.  Any restrictions will result in compensations elsewhere in the kinetic chain.  Such compensations result in swing faults and inconsistencies within the swing.

Therefore it is important to keep your body flexible and functioning correctly and your muscles balanced without any areas of particular tension.  This flexibility is required for the basis before you start working on strength and power training.

It is also important to carry out a golf specific warm up before playing, that will not only prepare your muscles and connective tissues, but will also lubricate your joints in preparation for full functioning mobility.

Over the following months we will be providing tips on all aspects of golf fitness from warming up to nutrition that will help you get the most out of your game.  Continue to read below for this months tip or if you have a specific area that you feel you would like some help with regarding golf fitness, please speak to your ACE Academy Teaching Professional or Contact Us now.
